ستعقد النسخة الحادية عشر من احتفالية فلسطين للأدب في عدة مدن في فلسطين في الفترة بين السادس من نيسان إلى الثالث عشر من نيسان حيث يشارك الكتاب الزائرون الدوليون بفعاليات عامة مجانية في القدس وبيت لحم ورام الله والخليل وحيفا ونابلس وبيرزيت.

From April 6th to April 13th, the eleventh edition of the Palestine Festival of Literature (PalFest) will be held in cities across Palestine as visiting international authors perform free public events in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Ramallah, al-Khalil, Haifa, Nablus and Birzeit.

قررت الاحتفالية أخذ استراحة لمدة عام لتقييم دورها في العالم وذلك بعد ١٠ سنوات من النشاط المتواصل.

عدنا الآن باحتفالية فلسطين للأدب للعام ٢٠١٩. ستنظَّم الاحتفالية للمرة الأولى حول موضوع معين. وسيكون الموضوع الرئيسي لاحتفالية عام ٢٠١٩ هو الحيز الاستعماري: مستقبل التطور الحضري. ستقوم احتفالية فلسطين للأدب بالتعاون مع المعماري والمحرر مهدي الصباغ بجمع كتّابٍ ومعماريين ومخططي مدنٍ وأكاديميين بارزين توضح أعمالهم استراتيجيات وتقنيات السيطرة والاحتلال الإسرائيلي للحيز الفلسطيني.

After ten years of festivals we took a year break to assess our role in the world.

We are back now with PalFest 2019. For the first time, PalFest will be organised around a theme: Urban Futures: Colonial Space Today.

Together with architect and editor Mahdi Sabbagh, PalFest has assembled a cutting-edge line-up of writers, urbanists, architects and academics whose work uniquley positions them to consider the strategies and techniques employed by Israel in the control and conquest of Palestinian space.

تسعى الاحتفالية نحو رعاية كتابات جديدة توضح وتؤطّر للروابط بين استعمار فلسطين وأنظمة السيطرة والسلب المتسارعة حول العالم.

وتضم مجموعة الكتاب المشاركين لهذا العام كل من ناتالي دياز وكيلير ايستيرلينج وسيمون براون ومابيل ويلسون وفيليسيتي سكوت وتا- نيسي كوتس وغيرهم من الكتاب الدوليين. وسيقوم خبراء فلسطينيون في المجال كريما حمامي ونادرة شلهوب-كيفوركيان باستضافتهم على المنصات المختلفة.

وإلى جانب الفعاليات العشر العامة المجانية، تتعاون الاحتفالية مع عدة مؤسسات عامة وتعليمية لعقد مجموعة من الورش التعليمية، حيث تقوم الاحتفالية هذا العام بضم جهود ٢٤ مؤسسة فلسطينية ودولية.
وإذ يدخل الحصار الإسرائيلي المصري المفروض على قطاع غزة عامه الحادي عشر فإنه يستمر في منعنا من إرسال كتاب دوليين لكامل فلسطين.


PalFest aims to foster new writing with original insights into the connections between the colonization of Palestine and the accelerating systems of control and dispossession around the world.

Authors for 2019 include Natalie Diaz, Keller Easterling, Simone Brown, Mabel Wilson, Felicity Scott and Ta-Nehisi Coates. They will be hosted on stage by Palestinian experts in the field such as Rema Hammami and Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian.

Alongside PalFest’s ten free, public events, we are working with several educational and public institutions to put on a series of workshops. PalFest 2019 combines the efforts of 24 Palestinian and international organisations.

The ongoing Israeli and Egyptian blockade of Gaza, now in its 11th year, continues to prevent us from taking international authors to all of Palestine.
