Non-profit organization founded in 1952 by the UNRWA and has been the construction of WPC was developed in Shaboura area of a donation from the Belgian government in 1995, after that the center moved to the area of Tal al-Sultan in 2008 and in order to work on the development of its programs and activities as on of high UNRWA's Centers .
WPC managed by the administrative stuff which was elected by the general assembly affiliated of the Center that oversees the planning and implementation of projects at the center and always seeking to expand its services and delivery , also be the promoted status of Palestinian women and to provide all necessary support to be able to afford what would be entrusted with the tasks and responsibilities in all aspects of life, The Centre is open to all women and children to participate in all activities implemented in the center, whether training or educational or recreational, etc. .....

Objectives:
• raise awareness in society about the active role of Palestinian women's and creative in the development process.
• Training and rehabilitation of Palestinian women to raise the level of social, economic, cultural and professional abilities .

Cultural Activities:
since the inception of WPC it take high care of cultural activities which take care of Awareness and Cultural sides Center for Women and Children in respect of all their lives, where we help them with their personal development and education and contribute to leisure investment in cultural activities and encourage a love of reading and training to engage the intellectual and work to enrich the knowledge and motivation to look and see and pay attention to daily issues discuss it.
As always through the department of cultural activities sought to encourage entrepreneurship and competition among the target groups through educational contests where culture is no longer limited to theater, music, sport and include work on the wall and printed magazines and written, and the implementation of the dialogues and seminars and cultural competitions in all its forms and manifestations, especially with reluctant children to hope the existing library in the center and processed a lot of books and various resources.
Workshops:
the Center seeks to educate women and increase their awareness so that a woman stand and are aware of what events happening around them, whether social, political, economic, and this is the position adopted by the Centre through the intellectuals and educated specialists in the areas required to build confidence among the women and through coordination with partner institutions seek the same goal.
Professional activities:
Training and Rehabilitation of Palestinian women is one of the main objectives of the Centre to raise the level of social, economic, cultural and professional this through units, vocational training in the Centre, a unit of sewing and embroidery, beauty and the computer and the Internet from which is to empower women socially, psychologically and economically as well as that it has a greater chance to work and engage in the domestic market and participation in the development process of the society in which they live.
Productive activities:
Since life began and men interested in providing food for his family, while a women's role in preparing and serving food for her family so The Centre is always to provide the necessary training for women to do its part during the economical circumstances that prevailed and always tried to do everything in their power to be innovative in that and therefore UNRWA sought since the founding of the Centre to develop and strengthen this role and to provide jobs and also through training courses in food processing and all that respect and methods of food preservation and preparation and the nutritional value. With the result that the establishment of production units located in the center and two laboratory maximum Cheese, milk and pasta manufacturing unit and from which have been providing employment opportunities for trainees and volunteers at the center employ them to help them improve their living conditions and life.
Sporting activities:
The role of sporting activities is to contribute and raising the level of fitness and to maintain public health and mental health for all family members.
Therefore the Centre to hang on to create a slimming and fitness unit as a pressing requirement for women and to provide some appropriate hardware to do exercises for women and choose diets that help reduce weight without any health complications and the exercise of certain types of sports such as table tennis for girls and familiarize children of the activation unit on the exercise of certain types of sports, exercise, and configure sports teams and participate in activities, events and sporting events through summer camps, executed by the Centre each year, whether summer camps for children or Vanguard for girls.
Children's activities:
Department of childhood activities section found at the center of the women's program since its inception from our sense of responsibility towards those children especially in difficult circumstances that have reached our lives and we live in poverty and siege, deprivation and lack of recreational places, especially for children fit with their needs and satisfy their rights.
We are at the center of Rafah was the women's program spent great efforts and work upon children, that we implement activities and events that meet the unique needs of the children and allow them the opportunity to develop their talents and skills and contribute to modify the negative perceptions and promote the positive values they have.
Therefore, we must work hard and continuous and effective to help the children to get rid of the effects of occupation and strengthen the positive values such as cooperation, love and respect, and participation in collaboration with partner institutions, which interested in working with children.
Nursery:
Nursery department was created at the beginning of the establishment of the Centre with the early under the auspices of services department of international relief agency in Gaza, which equipped WPC with necessary furniture for the reception of children up to 4 years and has been developed and supply of furniture and equipment in line with the number of children. This section serves working mothers. The nursery supervises by a specializing teacher in child care and parenting since we are constantly striving to develop services for children in the nursery.
kindergarten:
the kindergarten was established in 1998 by the Department services of UNRWA - Gaza follow-up to the governing body and volunteers, where K is equipped with appropriate furniture and some games, the Volunteers processing kindergarten educational aids that have been made from raw materials and the environment may started kindergarten in three classes each semester 35 children from the age of 4-5 years.
And in 2004 the kindergarten was developed by South development program - World Vision and equipped with the nursery furniture and indoor games for children as it seeks management kindergarten always develop in terms of curricula and teaching methods, educational and keen on the use of suitable educational aids for children.
