Star Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Abu Qash, Palestine is a non-governmental, not for profit Center, which has been active in the field of rehabilitation since 1960, focusing on treating patients with Leprosy until 1980. Since 1981, the Center has been in charge of rehabilitating, training, integrating and raising awareness among people with disabilities; particularly those with intellectual disabilities whose age ranges from months to senior of both sexes. Star Mountain Rehabilitation Center is a day center; one of the very rare centers in Palestine in particular, and the Arab World in general which provides services to the villages and neighboring camps of Birzeit and Abu Qash, accomodating 70 students of both sexes in different programs who come from extremely poor social and economic backgrounds and do not have any other alternatives for development and rehabilitation due to its scarcity in Palestine. The Center also provides services to around 100 people with intellectual disabilities in the villages, towns and the surrounding camp of Birzeit through the Community Work Program
