About Us

The Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Foundation was established on 8 July 1974 as a non-governmental Lebanese NGO, on the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Ghassan Kanafani, writer, journalist, artist and political activist for the rights of the Palestinian people.
The Foundation works to nurture children in the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon by providing the educational environment in accordance with the latest principles and methods.
The Foundation receives 625 children from kindergartens and rehabilitation centers for the handicapped, as well as a follow-up program for children with disabilities, children's libraries, clubs and art centers for about 500 children.
The organization depends on four committees: the administrative committee, the educational committee, the committee of donations and the project committee.
The total number of specialized staff is about 100 people, as well as a large number of volunteers.
Our goals
Ghassan Kanafani's literary work in Arabic and foreign languages.
Establishment of nurseries for children, between three and six years, and rehabilitation centers for children with disabilities in disadvantaged areas.
Establish and manage libraries and arts centers for children between 6 and 18 years old.
Coordination of activities between children with disabilities and other children.
Provide training programs for staff members.
Encourage cultural and social activities.
