Al Kamandjati’s vision is introducing, instilling and promoting broad-based musical education and appreciation as an integral part of Palestinian life.
Art and its appreciation, as a creative form of self-expression, are fundamental to the development of a cultured, balanced society that includes the arts and humanities as well as other disciplines of study and work. In the Palestinian context, this takes on added importance as a means of relieving some of the psychological effects of decades of military occupation, Palestinian dispossession, poverty, barriers to movement and difficult challenges of daily life. Music can be a simultaneous form of creative education, therapy, discipline, enjoyment, camaraderie and pride.
