The impressive building of the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) was built on the initiative of the International Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society (IOPS) in one of the main and sacred places for Christians of the world - the city of Bethlehem, where the famous Church of the Nativity of Christ is located. It was erected in one year by the Russian company RussNeft and Palestinian builders on a vast stretch of land in the center of the city, donated to Russia by the leadership of the Palestinian National Authority. This is the first representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Palestine and the second one is in the Holy Land: the first Russian Cultural Center was opened in Tel Aviv in the autumn of 2007.
