عن الورشة: ستناقش هيكي في هذه الورشة موضوع دراستها التي صدرت بعنوان "قراءة نيتشه في أعقاب حرب غزة 2008-2009"، التي تعتبر محاولة لتحديد ما يمكننا تعلّمه من نيتشه حول الحرب التي شُنّت على غزة عام 2008-2009، والسياسات الحربية بشكل عام، وجدوى السياسات المناهضة للاضطهاد، وذلك من خلال مقاربة فلسفية وسياسية. من خلال تقديم تفسير للهيمنة والاستغلال والعبودية والاضطهاد، تحاول هذه الورقة تفكيك خطابات نيتشه الموازية للمفاهيم المذكورة، والمتعلقة بالقوة والتفوّق والروحانية في المقال الأول من كتابه "في جنيولوجيا الأخلاق"، وذلك لطرح فكرة أن فهم جدلية السيد والعبد باعتبارها ممارسات أخلاقية ذاتية أفضل من فهمها باعتبارها بدائل لكل من: التصنيف الثنائي للقوة والضعف، أو تعيين الحدود السياسي بين المضطَهَد والمضطهِد. من خلال هذا التأويل يمكننا النظر إلى العنف المرعب الذي مارسته إسرائيل على غزة عام 2008-2009 بصورته العسكرية باعتباره تعبيرًا عن عبودية إسرائيل، وانحرافًا اخلاقيًا لا ينذر سوى بالمزيد من المجازر والانتهاكات والاعتداءات ضد الفلسطينيّين في غزة.

About the workshop: This paper is an attempt to determine, with both a philosophical and political acuteness, what we can learn from Nietzsche about the 2008-09 war on Gaza, political warfare in general, and the viability of anti-oppression politics. Seemingly an exponent of domination, exploitation, slavery, and oppression, this paper disentangles Nietzsche’s parallel discourses of strength, superiority, and spirituality in Essay I of On the Genealogy of Morals in order to argue that master and slave morality are better understood as ethical practices of the self rather than surrogates for either (i) a binary classification of strength and weakness or (ii) a political demarcation of oppressor and oppressed. As such, the horrific violence visited upon the Gaza Strip by Israel in its 2008-09 military assault is better understood as an expression of Israel’s slavishness, an ethical disposition that only portends more and greater massacres, assaults, and depradation for the people of Gaza.

C. Heike Schotten is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Boston (USA), where she teaches political theory, feminist theory. She is the author of Nietzsche’s Revolution: Décadence, Politics, and Sexuality (Palgrave, 2009).
