Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center invites you to attend the virtual reality experience: Bahr, that will last for four days from Thursday, 8.11.2018 until Sunday 11.11.2018 at the KSCC.

The Exhibition: With Bahr//Hav we want to bring the ocean to the Palestinians.

In a country where the people must face the conflict and its consequences, it is crucial to have a space for the thoughts and mind to explore the calming effect the ocean can give.
With the art installation Bahr//Hav, we will bring a piece of Danish nature to Palestine, and give the people an opportunity to experience the ocean. It is a virtual reality 4D installation of the beautiful Danish west coast, as interplay with all the senses: 4K technology, classically composed sound design, sand, wind, fresh breeze, and seaweed scent. After the exhibition you get the opportunity to bring home a piece of the Danish Westcoast. The duration of the experience is ten minutes.
In addition to the exhibition a documentary will be produced about the subject and how the conflict affects Palestinians every day.

The exhibition will take place from the 8th-11th of November.

Thursday the 8th (5pm-8pm)
Friday the 9th (5pm-8pm)
Saturday the 10th (2pm-8pm)
Sunday the 11th (2pm-8pm)

The Director: Behind the exhibition Bahr//Hav is Matilde Nørgaard, a young Danish filmmaker. This will be her second trip to Palestine. In 2016 she produced a documentary in collaboration with Filmlab Palestine and Palestinian Director Eliah Ghorbiah. The culture and the people immediately fascinated her, and she fell in love with Palestine.
Matilde experienced the longing for the ocean among the people, and decided to bring the ocean to Palestine.
