CONFERENCE : 1967 War and its consequencies on the Israeli and Palestinian societies

50 years ago, the Israeli army won an overwhelming victory against the arabic country neighbouring armies , conquering a territory making twice of its size.

Half a century later, despite the PLO formal recognition, Israel managed to preserve its domination on the Palestinian Territories of east-Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, but also to reinforce what constitute the heart of its strategy in its closest environment : prevent the creation of a Palestinian state

At the same time, both societies, the Israelian and the Palestinian, have deeply evolved. For different motives, both have known a religiosity rise of power that has strongly impacted mentalities.

On the Israeli side, the establishement of a colonial mentality dominated by racism and segregationist spirit is getting more assertive everyday. On the Palestinian side, the driving in a distress issued from a growing feeling of powerlessness is striking.

How did we get there ? How to get ouf of it ? Such are the themes that are going to be adressed in this conference.
