PIZZICA is a Southern Italian folk dance that has its origins in Southern Puglia, and is also known as Taranta. It owes its name to the tarantula spider that, according to the legend, used to bite the women who went out to pick olives, making them restless and melancholic... and the only way to cure this state was to dance the poison off.
Pizzica later became a dance for man and women, and is still danced at social gatherings, festivals and weddings.

Bring your comfy clothes, plenty of water, a scarf (for girls) and your own troubles that you want to dance away.
