انضمّوا إلينا في مركز خليل السكاكيني لحضور عرض فيلم "Spaces of Exception"، ٢٠١٨، ٩٠ دقيقة، من إخراج مات بيترسون ومالك رسامني.
وذلك يوم الثلاثاء ١٩\٢\٢٠١٩ الساعة ٦:٠٠ مساءً في عليّة المركز.

واحتفاءً بهذه المناسبة، سيُشاركنا مخرجا الفيلم في مناقشة بعد العرض.

يعرض الفيلم المحميات الهندية في أمريكا إلى جانب مخيمات اللاجئين الفلسطينيين، وقد امتد تصويره من عام 2014 حتى عام 2017 في أريزونا، ونيو مكسيكو، ونيويورك، وساوث داكوتا، بالإضافة إلى لبنان والضفة الغربية. وهو محاولة لفهم أهمية الأرض - ذاكرتها وانقساماتها - وظروف الحياة والمجتمع والسيادة.

يأتي فيلم Spaces of Exception من مشروع الوسائط المتعددة الطويل الأجل الذي يحمل عنوان "السكان الأصليون واللاجئون" والذي قُدّم في كندا، والإكوادور، وإنجلترا، وفرنسا، وغواتيمالا، والأردن، ولبنان، وفلسطين، والبرتغال، وسوريا، بما في ذلك داخل مخيمات اللاجئين والمحميات، وفي أماكن تشمل دور السينما والمعارض والجامعات. لمزيد من المعلومات، يرجى زيارة الموقع الالكتروني: https://thenativeandtherefugee.com.

نبذة عن مخرجي الفيلم:
أخرج مات بيترسون فيلماً عن الثورة التونسية حمل عنوان Scenes from a Revolt Sustained، وذلك بموجب منحة إنتاج من معهد الدوحة للأفلام. وقد عُرضتْ أفلامه ومقاطع الفيديو التي أخرجها في صالات عرض مختلفة نذكر منها على سبيل المثال Anthology Film Archives، وe-flux، وFilm Society of Lincoln Center وMoMA PS1. كما كان عضواً في مجموعات Red Channels، و16 Beaver Group، وأصبح في عام 2014 عضواً في Woodbine في مدينة نيويورك.
مالك رسامني هو باحث وكاتب ومتحدّث ومخرج سينمائي في كل من نيويورك وبيروت، وقد نُشرتْ كتاباته في صحيفة ديلي ستار وفيوز. عمل في مركز مايسلس للأفلام الوثائقية، وكان أحد الأعضاء المؤسّسين لمساحة LERFE في هارلم وRed Channels.

The directors of the film will Join us for a discussion after the screening.

The documentary was filmed from 2014-2017 in Arizona, New Mexico, New York, and South Dakota in the United States as well as in Lebanon and the West Bank.

“These portraits are an attempt to understand the land--its memory and divisions--and to understand the conditions for life, community, and sovereignty.”

The Native and the Refugee has been presented as a multimedia project in Canada, Ecuador, England, France, Guatemala, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Portugal, and Syria, including within refugee camps and reservations themselves, and at venues including cinemas, galleries, and universities. ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS:
Matt Peterson directed a film on the Tunisian insurrection, Scenes from a Revolt Sustained, with a production grant from the Doha Film Institute. His films and videos have screened at venues including Anthology Film Archives, e-flux, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, and MoMA PS1. He was a member of the collectives Red Channels and the 16 Beaver Group, and since 2014 has been a member of Woodbine in New York City.

Malek Rasamny is a researcher, writer, speaker and filmmaker based in both New York and Beirut whose writings have been published in The Daily Star and Fuse. He’s worked at the Maysles Documentary Center, and was a founding member of the LERFE space in Harlem and Red Channels.
