فيلم تم تصويره في مخيم شاتيلا للاجئين في لبنان عندما هُجِّر آلاف الفلسطينيين من ديارهم العام 1948. تبدأ القصة في لحظة غير محددة في المستقبل، عندما يصبح حلم الفلسطينيين بالعودة إلى فلسطين حقيقة واقعة. يقود الفيلم خيط رفيع بين الخيالي والوثائقي، بين الحلم والحقيقة. تحضّر العائلات لعودتها الخيالية، بينما يتضح بالتدريج أكثر فأكثر أن هذا حلم لن يخرجهم من حياتهم اليومية في المخيم. من خلال الكلمات، التي يستخدمونها كممثلين للحديث عن حلم العودة إلى ديارهم، ويمكننا أن نفهم، بشكل أكثر تعمقاً، ما معنى أن تعيش في المنفى.

يدور فيلم المنام الذي تم تصويره العام 1981 حول ما يشاهده سكان المخيمات الفلسطينية في لبنان في أحلامهم. يقابل المخرج محمد ملص الشخصيات، ويسجل ما يروونه من أحلام وارتباطها بواقعهم اليومي وحلم العودة. تم تصوير الفيلم قبل شهور فقط من مذابح "صبرا وشاتيلا"


This event is part of the Palestinian-Flemish Cultural Festival, Under Construction, that will be launched in Ramallah. The Festival is organised by the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) (Palestine) and Connexion VZW (Belgium), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture.

Synopsis

Ours is a Country of Words is filmed in Shatila, a refugee camp established in Lebanon when thousands of Palestinians were forced to flee their country in 1948. The story begins at an undetermined moment in the future, when the dream of the Palestinian refugees to go back to Palestine becomes a reality. The film balances a thin line between fiction and documentary, between dream and reality. Families are preparing for their fictional return as it slowly becomes clear that this dream is far removed from their daily life in the camp. Through the words they use as actors to talk about the dream of returning to their homeland, we come to a deeper understanding of what it means to them to live in exile.

The Dream filmed in 1981 features what the inhabitants of Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon see in their dreams; Malas captures what they see in their dreams and relates it to their daily life and the dream of return. The film was filmed only months before the 'Sabra and Shatila massacre'.
