بإشراف د. سهيل دحدل- صانع أفلام وثائقيّة وفنّان ملتيميديا
"كان يا ما كان" هو رحلة في الزّمن يرويها كبار فلسطينيّين عاشوا في فلسطين قبل النّكبة. يدور المشروع الوثائقي هذا حول إعادة تخيّل وبناء الماضي من خلال سرد تفاعليّ لقصص ضمن جانر الواقع الافتراضي.

تتبع العرض حلقة نقاش حول بناء ذاكرة فلسطينيّة جمعيّة والحفاظ عليها مع سهيل دحدل وسليم تماري - كبير الباحثين في مؤسّسة الدّراسات الفلسطينيّة.

في الذّكرى السّبعين للنّكبة وبالتّعاون مع فيلم لاب: فلسطين، رَقّم ورمّم مشروع البحث "تداخلات إبداعيّة" في جامعة شيفيلد هالام خمسة أفلام من حقبة السّينما الفلسطينيّة الثّوريّة.

The session will be held in Conference Room 243.

13:00-15:00 Kan Yama Kan: A Virtual Reality Documentary
Curated by Dr Sohail Dahdal (Documentary filmmaker and multimedia artist).

Presentation of the Kan Yama Kan (Once Upon a Time in Palestine) project, a journey through time in the voice of Palestinian elders who lived in Palestine before the Nakba. This documentary project is about reimagining and reconstructing the past through virtual reality interactive storytelling.

Followed by a panel discussion on the construction and preservation of a Palestinian collective memory with Sohail Dahdal and Salim Tamari (Senior Research Associate, Institute of Palestine Studies).

15:30-18:30 Creative Interruptions: The Cinema of the Palestinian Revolution

Curated by Dr Anandi Ramamurthy (Reader in Post-Colonial Cultures, Sheffield Hallam University).

To mark 70 years of the Nakba, the Creative Interruptions research project at Sheffield Hallam (AHRC), in collaboration with Filmlab: Palestine, has digitised and restored films from the revolutionary period of Palestinian cinema.
