يدعوكم مركز خليل السكاكيني الثقافي لحضور عرض فيلم "شارع لونج" يتبعه حوار مع مخرجه علاء الحوراني، وذلك يوم الأربعاء 23.1.2019 الساعة 6:00 مساءً في عليّة المركز.

عن الفيلم:
يستكشف هذا الفيلم الإثنوغرافي مختلف الأنظمة الأخلاقية التي تشكل الحياة الأخلاقية في شارع Long الذي يعدّ أحد أقدم الشوارع وأكثرها ازدحامًا في كيب تاون، وهو عبارة عن فضاء عام للمعيشة والإختلاف ويتميز بالمشاكل الاجتماعية المتزايدة. يظهر الفيلم كيف أن التعقيد والتهجين والمشاكل الاجتماعية المتزايدة تشجع وتؤدي إلى عدم القدرة على التنبؤ والابتكار والضعف وانهيار الأخلاق العادية.

يبحث علاء الحوراني في أنثروبولوجيا الأخلاق العادية في الحياة العامة. في هذا الحدث، سيناقش سؤالين مترابطين. ما الذي يحافظ على الحياة الأخلاقية اليومية في شارع لونج وما هي الطرق التي يتجاوب فيها الدين ويساهم في القيم الأخلاقية في تجارب الحياة اليومية للواقع الجديد في الشارع.

علاء الحوراني هي مختص في علم الإنسان، وهو حالياً زميل ما بعد الدكتوراة، حيث يشارك في مشروع "أخلاقيات الدين في الحياة العامة" في قسم الدراسات الدينية في جامعة كيب تاون. أطروحته للدكتوراه بحثت في عودة المظاهر الإسلامية العامة
والسياسة الإسلامية، وصناعة المجتمع، والمتعلقات المتعددة المتداخلة في السياق الما بعد الفصل العنصري لجنوب إفريقيا.

About the Film:
This ethnographic film explores the various moral systems that shape the ethical life in and of Long Street. One of the oldest and busiest streets in Cape Town, Long Street is a public space of conviviality and differences, marked with every-increasing social problems. The film shows how the complexity, hybridity and ever-increasing social problems instigate temporality, unpredictability, innovation, vulnerability and breakdown of ordinary ethics.

Alaa Hourani's research is an anthropology of ordinary ethics in and of public life. In this event he will discuss two interrelated questions; what maintain the everyday ethical life in and of Long Street and the ways in which religion responds to this new reality of Long Street, and contributes ethical values to everyday lived experiences.

Alaa Hourani is an anthropologist, currently a postdoctoral fellow, involved in a larger project “Ethic of Religion in and of Public Life” at the Department of Religious Studies at UCT. Alhourani PhD’s thesis explored the resurgence of public performances of ‘Muslim-ness’ and Muslim aesthetic politics of difference, community making, and multiple intersected belongings in the context of post-apartheid South Africa.
