عن الكاتب :
أكرم الديك هو دكتور الأدب العالمي و دراسات ما بعد الكولونياليّة في الجامعة الأميركيّة في مادبا في الأردن حيث شغل منصب نائب عميد كليّة اللغات والاتصال ورئيس قسميّ اللغة الانجليزية وآدابها وقسم الترجمة واللّغات (2015 – 2017(.
الديك هو مؤلّف كتاب "كتابة النّزوح: دراسة في سياسات ومعنى الهويّة والوطن في الأدب الانجليزي الحديث ما بعد الاستعمار" والتي نشرته باليجراف ماكميلان في نيوورك ولندن ويدرج الآن في برامج الماجستير والدكتوراه في أوروبا وأمريكا وأستراليا )2016( .
أصدر الديك كتابا سروائيّا بعنوان "شجرة الكينا: حلقات في الشتات" عن دار ورد اانشر والتوزيع في عمّان، 2019.
الديك أيضا هو كاتب في جريدة الجوردن تايمز حيث له عمود شبه أسبوعي, وهو مؤسس أوّل مجموعة كتابة ابداعيّة في الأردن وهي "كتّاب في عمان" )2015). عمل أستاذا مساعدا للأدب في جامعة سندرلاند في بريطانيا, كما عمل مديرا ومقيّما للّغة الانجليزيّة في مشروع تطوير اللّغات والاتصال مع حزب العمّال في انجلترا والمموّل من الاتحاد الأوروبي ووزارة العمل الانجليزية. يشغل مكانة تحكيم عدد من المسابقات الابداعية في مجال القصة القصيرة والشعر محليا وعالميا.
تخرّج الديك بدرجة البكالوريوس في الأدب الانجليزي برتبة امتياز من الأردن ومن ثم درجة الماجستير من انجلترا في الأدب العالمي ودرجة الدكتوراة في أدب ما بعد الاستعمار.
الديك من أصل فلسطيني من قرية صغيره في الضفة المحتله, ولد في الأردن، يحمل الجنسيّة الألمانيّة، يكتب حصرا بالانجليزية وقضى عشرينيّاته في الدراسه والتعليم في بريطانيا. تأمّلات الديك تعكس تجربته الخاصه في فهم الوجود والكينونه. فتجربة الباحث ها هنا ماهي الاّ بوصله يستخدمها لايجاد مفارقات وتفاوتات تأخذ النزوح الفلسطيني من محليّته لتتقاطع عالميا مع الأدب الكاريبي و الهندي والباكستناني والافريقي.

About the book:
This project uses cultural and literary theory and post-colonial fictions to revisit the concept of displacement allowing for an affirmation of the specificity and beginnings of displaced writers’ identities meanwhile resisting, precluding, falling into the dangers of cultural and mental ghettoisation and vulgar nationalism. Displacement here troubles the ideas of citizenship and national belonging and offers to the non-citizen the freedom to be ‘out of place’ which opens doors for and promotes the rediscovery, as in the Freudian psychoanalytic context, of materials that have been repressed or ‘pushed aside’ in cultural translation. Displacement falls therefore somewhere between nationalism (Oedipal, rigid, imposed, created, closed) and nomadology (anti-Oedipal, open, flexible, creative, free) allowing critical and aesthetic distance, and balancing the central authority between past and present, tradition and modernity, by translating (between) them.

Bio:
Akram Al Deek is an Assistant Professor of English, majored in post-colonial world literature, the former Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Communication, and Head of the Departments of English Language and Literature, and Department of Translation at The American University of Madaba, Jordan.

Dr Al Deek is the author of Writing Displacement: home and identity in contemporary post-colonial English fiction (Palgrave Macmillan: London and New York: 2016), author of Eucalyptus Obliqua: episodes of dispersals (Ward: Jordan: 2019), contributory columnist and writer in the Jordan Times, co-founder of Writers in Amman (Jordan), former academic lecturer in Sunderland University (UK), Jordan University and Middle East University (Jordan), and former Director and Assessor of English and Communication Skills in Working Links (UK) funded by The Ministry of Justice and European Union. Dr Al Deek is also a frequent judge in (inter)national creative writing competitions, public intellectual, and speaker on the politics of home and identity, exile and migration. Al Deek’s nomadic existence has lent his writing a cosmopolitan edge.

Dr Akram Al Deek graduated with a Bachelor’s degree with Honours (Distinction, Sep. 2005) in English Language and Literature, Irbid, Jordan; a Master’s degree in World Literatures (UK, Oct. 2006) and PhD (Nov. 2013) in Post-colonial Studies and Literature from Sunderland University, UK.
