Project summary: The project READY aims at implementing an integrated and participative approach to support preparedness and strengthen crisis response mechanisms of minors, families and actors (UNRWA, PC, CBOs) operating in Shu’afat refugee camp.
In order to reach this objective, the project will focus on improving the quality and the access to basic education services (both formal and non-formal) and hygiene-healthcare services for the community living in the south-east area of Shu’afat refugee camp as well as for the UNRWA Boys school; on strengthening the capacities of prevention and response to trauma of children and caregivers; on ameliorating the preparedness of schools in case of new humanitarian crisis.
Finally, the project will focus on CBOs capacity building in advocacy towards local and international stakeholders to raise awareness on the human rights violations in the refugee camp.


Duties & Responsibilities (Job Description)


Working closely with all the Team involved in the project (Project Manager, Educators, Teachers, Local partner). Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Psychosocial support expert will be responsible for coordination, planning and management of project activities, according to the schedule defined by the project.
In particular, psychosocial support expert will be responsible for:
Mapping the relevant actors working in psychosocial support in Shu’afat refugee camp in order to create a network among those working inside the school and in the community
Supporting teachers from UNRWA schools in Shu’afat refugee camp in the development of a CHILD Monitoring Observation Form, a tool to assess the psychosocial needs of children
Supporting the teachers in the identification and referral of psychosocial needs of children in the UNRWA schools in Shu’afat Refugee camp
Supervising the extra curricula activities and remedial classes carried out with children in the UNRWA schools or in the Palestinian Child Center
Coordinating the PSS activities with care-givers (especially mothers)
